Executive produced alongside Peter Paige and Jennifer Lopez, the series ran for five seasons and launched the highly praised spin-off GOOD TROUBLE. Bredeweg directed more than ten episodes across both series, including the most-watched episode in Freeform’s history. He also co-wrote the three-part miniseries TUT for Paramount/Spike, starring Ben Kingsley, which earned Kingsley a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
Currently under a development deal creating and showrunning a new series starring Gabrielle Union for HBO Max/Warner Brothers, Bredeweg has sold other pilots or series to Skydance/Paramount, HBO, Showtime, Amazon, Netflix, The CW, ABC, USA, and more.
In theatre, Bredeweg is the book writer and director of HEARTBREAKER, a reimagining of the star-crossed Romeo & Juliet love story featuring the music of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. The show will have its World Premiere in Chicago this February 2027 ahead of New York City. He also created SCISSORHANDS: A Musical Reinvented - a modern, magical reworking of Tim Burton’s classic, which played a multi-year sold-out run in Los Angeles before transferring to London’s Southwark Playhouse.
He is also an active producer and investor on Broadway and in the West End, with credits including the revival of SIDE SHOW, Green Day’s AMERICAN IDIO, the Tony winning DEAR EVAN HANSEN, and the hit sensation MOULIN ROUGE.
